Eskişehir School Hosts P24 ‘How to Cover’ Journalism Workshop
Eskişehir School, a platform established by dismissed academics in the city of Eskişehir, has hosted P24’s “How to Cover” journalism workshop on June 26, 2018. Held at the Adımlar Bookstore’s seminar room, the event was attended by many students and NGO representatives. It was the third event organized as part of this year’s workshop series supported by Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
Dr. Erkan Saka, lecturer at Bilgi University, digital communication expert Kenan Dursun and IT expert Şevket Uyanık made a presentation on the evolution of new media and discussed its impact on journalism. Saka and Dursun introduced digital tools such as applications, websites and social media channels that can help journalists. During two hours-long workshop, participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with tools that can facilitate every stage of reporting, from collecting information, to editing photos and videos, publishing their reports and disseminating them through different online platforms. For his part, Uyanık shared tips on digital security to help journalists prevent security breaches online.
Before the event in Eskişehir, P24 organized two other workshops in Bursa and Gaziantep with the contribution of Friedrich Naumann Foundation.
