Dr. Ronald Meinardus
Ronald Meinardus calls himself a liberal, a political commentator, a desk activist and a citizen of the world. He came to Istanbul in late 2019 as Project Director of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF). Before that, he served the Foundation in India,Egypt, the Philippines, South Korea and Greece. A journalist by training, Dr Meinardus has published widely on current political affairs in academic journals and the media. Before leaving New Delhi, he edited "How Liberal is India? The Quest for Freedom in the biggest Democracy on Earth (Academic Foundation, 2019)”.
Born in 1986 in Aydın, Gülçin Sinav studied International Relations and EU in Izmir University of Economics. She holds a Master Degree in Advanced European and International Studies from Istanbul Bilgi University and European Institute. Formerly, she worked in Spanish Embassy, ARI Movement and Istanbul Aydin University. Since March 2013, she has been working in FNF.
Elif Güney holds her bachelor’s degree in Political Science & International Relations from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey. As a senior student, she spent her last semester in Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain as part of Erasmus+ program. Before joining the Friedrich Naumann team, she facilitated the establishment of a youth NGO, namely Co-Opinion, which is the youth network to address the problems of youth in the MENA. She had a privilege to work as a trainee in different institutions, including the Istanbul Policy Center and the UNDP. She studied renewable energy cooperation among the BRICS. She is currently working for Friedrich Naumann Foundation as Project Coordinator. She is fluent in English; she knows intermediate level Spanish.
Esra Evyurt holds her bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpretation from Mersin University, Turkey. During her University time, she spent one semester in Würzburg, Germany, as part of the Erasmus+ program. After her graduation, she participated in a one-year professional German language program at the Julius-Maximilians University in Würzburg. She completed a one-year Policy studies program at the Robert Bosch Foundation. Intergovernmental relations within the EU, political connections and international cooperation constituted the main themes of her studies. Moreover, she has completed studies in the field of Pedagogy at the Akdeniz University.
She worked for the FX Group Companies in Ankara as a Project Manager and Office Manager. Besides, she worked for the LED Display company Artixium in Istanbul as Senior Project and Office Manager. Since 2019, she is a part of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Turkey.
She is fluent in German and English.
